Success Story: OEI

The Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI) faced the challenge of manually managing key indicators, which consumed significant time and resources. To improve its efficiency and obtain real-time information, SMS Sudamérica designed a comprehensive solution based on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The project began with the migration of nearly 600 metrics and 800 attributes from a relational database to a non-relational database in Firestore, using Spring Boot and Google App Engine Standard. This first stage allowed for the centralization of data and ensured its automatic updating.

In the second stage, the Firebase dashboard was optimized to present information visually and accessibly. Thanks to collaborative testing and adjustments, the updated dashboard was successfully implemented, ensuring data quality and eliminating manual processes.

The results exceeded expectations: the OEI managed to improve response time by more than 70%, automate data management, and provide innovative reports to support its actions in education, science, culture, and technology.

This success story demonstrates how Google Cloud data solutions can transform the management of large volumes of information, delivering efficiency and outstanding results.
